Interpretations
The original Sanskrit name of this technique is Yoni Mudra, meaning, to perceive and meditate on the cosmic womb, or womb of God, or the spiritual eye, or the third eye, or the wisdom eye. Paramahansa Yogananda termed it as Yoti or Yothi Mudra, which is literally true. In the successful technique, one perceives brilliant white light with a central black or purple hole with a central tiny star. The whole thing is surrounded by bright golden yellow corona.
Naba dwaara Roodha Mudra
The human body is known as the City of 9 Gates, these are – two eyes, two ears, two nostrils, one mouth, the genito-urinary and the anus. In the technique, the upper 7 gates are closed with the 10-fingers and the lower 2 gates are closed by Pranic Kriya Yoga Techniques known as Bandhas and Mudra. Pranayam, as instructed by the teacher, is performed. The result is as described above.
Brahmam Guhaa (The Cave of God)
It is not any cave in any mountains. It is this Brahmam Yoni, as perceived in Yoti Mudra.
Gagam Guhaa (The Cosmic Tunnel)
The Cosmic Cave which is perceived and meditated upon, by the Yoni Mudra technique. This is the term, used by Yogiraj Shyamacharan Lahiri Mahasaya. It can be interpreted as the spiritual, cosmic, inner, infinity, the eternal inner self, or Kutastha Chaitanya. As one approaches it by Yoti or Yoni Mudra technique, one can perceive melodious divine sounds in addition to the brilliant, but soothing illumination and the cosmic tunnel. The tunnel can be entered using the tiny shining star as the guide or the navigator.
Dharma Guhaa
The meaning is the cave of cosmic values and code of conduct. This is mentioned in the Mahabharata, the greatest epic of the holy land of Bharata Varsha, ancient undivided India. It was discussed in a dialogue between Emperor Yudhisthira and the demigod known as the Dharma Jakhya. It is in the Vana Parva of the Mahabharata. It refers to the vision of the Kutastha Chaitanya or the Inner Self. This is realized only by experiencing Self Realization.
Atma Sakhyatkar Mudra
This means, by practicing this technique, one can perceive the Soul, or the Inner Self, meditate on It and attain Samadhi and God Realization. Perceiving this and meditating on it, immediately, one can experience inner peace, calmness, clearer vision. One is convinced that there is much more significance to the external body, mind, intellect, and ego combination of any being. Only human beings are capable of realizing it, due to their evolutional advantage and brain development. Hence, spiritually it is declared that Human Birth is a rare opportunity to achieve Self Realization and Perfection. Hence, this rare Human Birth should not be wasted. Every right-minded person should learn and practice practical spirituality through Kriya Yoga.
Lahiri Mahasaya’s comments of Yoni Mudra
What is this KUTASTHA CHAITANYA?
KUT means Anvil. Using this, the goldsmith and ironsmith make ornaments or objects of metals in different shapes and sizes. But the Anvil itself remains constant and changeless. Depending on this Kutastha, the whole creation of different names and forms are existing. This is deathless, eternal, also known as the Third Eye, the wisdom eye, the spiritual vision. If one can fix his attention and concentration in the Kutastha, one can know everything, one can perceive everything. This is the source of everything and the source of spirituality. Concentrating on this one can see far objects. By Pranayam and doing Yoni (Yoti) Mudra, a brilliant, effulgent golden sphere of light appears. Inside it, is bright white light and inside it, a silky black or purple, like the entrance of a tunnel appears. In the center of this is a shining white star. This star is known as the Supreme Navigator. Concentrating and meditating here, the Yoni becomes Self Realized. Nothing remains unknown to him.
The 3rd Eye:
When the Yoni (Yoti) Mudra becomes successful, one is overwhelmed by its effulgence and shining, vivid dimensions of the ThirdEye or wisdom ego or soul center, the cave of God. The vision of this removes all sins and stress. It is known as a Sa
