om the supreme

Om – The Supreme

The disciple is asking his Guru:

ओं केनेषितं पतति प्रेषितं मनः केन प्राणः प्रथमः प्रैति युक्तः ।
केनेषितां वाचमिमां वदन्ति चक्षुः श्रोत्रं क उ देवो युनक्ति ॥ १ ॥

om kenesitam patati presitam manah kena pranah prathamah praiti yuktah
kenesitam vācamimam vadanti chaksyuh strotram ka u devo yunakti

Kenopanishad 1.1

This is the question the accepted disciple asks the Guru. OM IS THE SUPREME. Who commands and authorizes the Mind to do what it does, commanded by whom, the Primordial Prana, is energized and activated; who commands and employs the power of speech; which people speak and communicate; who commands and enliven the eyes and the ears to perform their prescribed duties.

Who is the Supreme Power?

The Guru replies:

śrotrasya śrotram manaso mano yad vāccho ha vāachaṃ sa u pranasya prana chakhyusasch
atimucya dhīrah pretyāsmāl lokāda muṛtā bhavanti

Kenopanishad 1.2

The Guru is trying to enlighten the disciple. That is the ear of the ear, the mind of the mind, the speaking power of the speech and the life of the life energy. All these powers and energies are derived from that Supreme. All these powers, to be born, live, survive and function derive their life and energy from Him; and projected from Him. He is the powerhouse of all energies and lives. Realizing this, the spiritual seeker attains Him; Realizes Him and attains Immortality. They become Jeevanmukta. They go beyond the bondage of time and space and the law of Karma. They go beyond nature, both lower and higher.

The Supreme Soul abides in Every Soul

eko vaśī sarva bhūtāntarātmā ekam rūpam bahudhā yah karoti |
tamātmastham yeanupaśyanti dhīrāstesam sukham śhāśhvatam netaresam

Kathopanishad 2.2.12

That Supreme Soul constantly and forever abides in every being as their Inner Self. It is non-dual, forever independent in every way. In the entire creation, it is the controller of all. He is the Almighty, abiding everywhere, the Supreme Lord. He, by his cosmic play, makes his one form, so many. That wise saint, who constantly perceives that Supreme Soul within his own heart, to him, only is available, the constant and eternal Supreme Bliss—SAT CHIT ANANDA.

May God bless you with Love, Laughter, Light, Longevity and Life.
