How to control the Restless mind?

This turbulent mind can be brought under control by repeated practice, tremendous patience and inner, emotional detachment.

Arjuna questions Lord Krishna:

चञ्चलं हि मन: कृष्ण प्रमाथि बलवद्दृढम् |
तस्याहं निग्रहं मन्ये वायोरिव सुदुष्करम् || 34||

tasysaham nigraham manye vayoriva su-dushkaram

The Bhagavad Gita Ch6 Verse34

General Meaning:

Because O, Krishna, this mind is extremely restless, agitates the senses, very powerful and strong. So, I think, it is impossible to control, like it is impossible to tie up the wind.

Lord Krishna answers:

श्रीभगवानुवाच |
असंशयं महाबाहो मनो दुर्निग्रहं चलम् |
अभ्यासेन तु कौन्तेय वैराग्येण च गृह्यते || 35||

General Meaning:

There is no doubt, O Mighty Hero, the mind is extremely restless and turbulent and very difficult to control. But, O Son of Kunti (Arjuna), this turbulent mind can be brought under control by repeated practice, tremendous patience and inner, emotional detachment.

Es besteht kein Zweifel, oh mächtiger Held, der Geist ist extrem unruhig und turbulent und sehr schwer zu kontrollieren. Aber, oh Sohn des Kunti (Arjuna), dieser turbulente Geist kann durch wiederholte Übung, enorme Geduld und innere, emotionale Distanz unter Kontrolle gebracht werden.

Arjuna vraagt Lord Krishna:
चञ्चलं हि मन: कृष्ण प्रमाथि बलवद्दृढम् |
तस्याहं निग्रहं मन्ये वायोरिव सुदुष्करम् || 34||

Omdat O, Krishna, deze geest extreem onrustig is, de zintuigen prikkelt, zeer krachtig en sterk. Dus, denk ik, is het onmogelijk om te controleren, zoals het onmogelijk is om de wind vast te binden.

Heer Krishna antwoordt:

Algemene betekenis:
Er is geen twijfel mogelijk, O Machtige Held, de geest is extreem onrustig en turbulent en zeer moeilijk te controleren. Maar, O Zoon van Kunti (Arjuna), deze turbulente geest kan onder controle worden gebracht door herhaalde oefening, enorm geduld en innerlijke, emotionele onthechting.

Arjuna interroge le Seigneur Krishna :
चञ्चलं हि मन : कृष्ण प्रमाथि बलवद्दृढम् |
तस्याहं निग्रहं मन्ये वायोरिव सुदुष्करम् || 34||

Signification générale :
Car O, Krishna, cet esprit est extrêmement agité, agite les sens, très puissant et fort. Donc, je pense qu’il est impossible à contrôler, comme il est impossible d’attacher le vent.

Le Seigneur Krishna répond :

Signification générale :
Il ne fait aucun doute, ô puissant héros, que l’esprit est extrêmement agité et turbulent et très difficile à contrôler. Mais, ô Fils de Kunti (Arjuna), cet esprit turbulent peut être maîtrisé par une pratique répétée, une patience extraordinaire et un détachement intérieur et émotionnel.

Arjuna interroga il Signore Krishna:

Perché O, Krishna, questa mente è estremamente inquieta, agita i sensi, molto potente e forte. Quindi, credo, è impossibile da controllare, come è impossibile legare il vento.

Risponde il Signore Krishna:

Significato generale:
Non c’è dubbio, o potente eroe, la mente è estremamente inquieta e turbolenta e molto difficile da controllare. Ma, o Figlio di Kunti (Arjuna), questa mente turbolenta può essere messa sotto controllo da una pratica ripetuta, da una tremenda pazienza e da un distacco interiore ed emotivo.

Arjuna cuestiona al Señor Krishna:

El Señor Krishna responde:

No hay duda, O Poderoso Héroe, la mente es extremadamente inquieta y turbulenta y muy difícil de controlar. Pero, O Hijo de Kunti (Arjuna), esta mente turbulenta puede ser controlada por la práctica repetida, la tremenda paciencia y el desapego interno y emocional.

Arjuna questiona Lorde Krishna:
