Practice, Realize and Attain

Practice, Realize and Attain

The teachings in the Upanishads, the ancient Yoga scriptures of India say,

वेदाहमेतं पुरुषं महान्तम्आदित्यवर्णं तमसः परस्तात्तमेव विदित्वा अतिमृत्युमेतिनान्यः पन्था विद्यतेऽयनाय ॥
vedāham etaṃ puruṣaṃ mahāntam ādityavarṇaṃ tamasaḥ parastāt
tam eva viditvāti mṛtyum eti nānyaḥ panthā vidyate ‘yanāya

PURUSHA SUKTAM  VERSE 2

English Translation:

We have to realize that The Supreme Person is Formless, brilliant, and shining like the Sun, and who transcends all modalities of darkness. By realizing our oneness with Him, we can attain deathlessness. Only then, we can be free from fear and suffering. There is no other path. Happiness doesn’t come without overcoming the restlessness and fluctuations of the mind. Inner calmness and outward activities have to go hand in hand. There are no cravings, no passionate attachments, and no dissatisfaction.

Health is achieved through the right food in the right amount, at the right time, the right attitude, and the right activities. All parts of the body and mind have to be exercised. God has given us this splendid, beautiful body, governed by the heart, breath, the brain, and the all-powerful mind. These are like infinitely superior computers. However powerful the computer may be, it is useless if we don’t have control over this power, i.e. Prana, Life Force, the Power of God. This is achieved through the Pranayama of Kriya yoga. These have to be practiced daily. Love is achieved when one feels oneness with the object of love through the Spirit. this is quoted from the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad.

The Yoga scriptures say,

If you know the details about the gold, you can know all the details about all the ornaments made of gold.”

Similarly, if you can lovingly feel The Spirit or The Soul, then you can love all people, all creatures, all Saints. Because the Soul or Power of God is one and the Inner Self or Soul of each and every being. This seems to be difficult to realize for most people. This negative situation arises because our mind is outwardly oriented and is not an effective good boss. the sense organs are the servants of the mind. So the mind has to be made powerful, efficient, and wise by regulating and controlling the Prana( Mind’s Boss) by Kriya Yoga Pranayama. It is the holistic, rhythmic, and mindful breathing exercises as taught by our well trained and authorized Yogacharyas or Kriya Yoga teachers.

I pray to god and our merciful Gurus to Bless you, Guide you, Protect you and Inspire you.

With Love and Blessings to you. Humbly,
Paramahansa Atmananda Ji
