Brahmam – The Immortal and Eternal

taṃ durdarśaṃ gūḍhamanupraviṣṭaṃ guhāhitaṃ gahvareṣṭhaṃ purāṇam
adhyātmayogādhigamena devaṃ matvā dhīro harṣaśokau jahāti

Katha Upanishad Verse 1.2.12

A person should realize the Divinity of his own Soul by concentrating the mind on the Inner Self within which is Eternally free. The inability to perceive the soul, situated deep in the Cave of God, is due to the mental restlessness and desires, It is caused by the dual experiences of pleasure and pain, joys and sorrows. Once one realizes the spirit deep within, all the delusions caused by the dualities of nature disappear.

hanta ta idaṃ pravakśyāmi guhyaṃ brahma sanātanam
yathā ca maraṇaṃ prāpya ātmā bhavati gautama

Katha Upanishad Verse 2.2.6

O’ Gautama. Now I will tell you about the mysterious Eternal Brahmamand about the destiny of the individual soul after death.

yonimanye prapadyante śarīratvāya dehinaḥ
sthāṇumanye’nusaṃyanti yathākarma yathāśrutam

Katha Upanishad Verse 2.2.7

Some Jeevaatmaa (Individual Souls), in order to obtain a body again, enter into the wombs of other beings, depending upon their own past actions and intellectual development and some other souls obtain immovable bodies like plants and rocks etc.

ya eṣa supteṣu jāgarti kāmaṃ kāmaṃ puruṣo nirmimāṇaḥ
tadeva śukraṃ tadbrahma tadevāmṛtamucyate
tasmiṃllokāḥ śritāḥ sarve tadu nātyeti kaścana | etadvaitat

Katha Upanishad Verse 2.2.8

When the Prana (Life Energy) is sleeping and dormant, when the senses and sense organs are dormant and sleeping, the pure, effulgent, glorious Supreme Being, who has created the Creation imposed the Law of Karma or the Cosmic Law, keeps awake. That is known as Brahmam. He is the Immortal and Eternal, in whom are sheltered, all the worlds and all beings. None can ever transcend Him. This is what you need to know.

May God and Guru Bless, Guide, Protect and Inspire each one of us and the Whole Universe.
