Biological Ego- The Source of ‘I’ and ‘Mine’

यावत्स्यात्स्वस्य संबन्धोऽहंकारेण दुरात्मना । 
तावन्न लेशमात्रापि मुक्तिवार्ता विलक्षणा ॥ २९९ ॥
yāvatsyātsvasya saṃbandho’haṃkāreṇa durātmanā | 
tāvanna leśamātrāpi muktivārtā vilakṣaṇā || 299 ||

Viveka Chudamoni – Adi Shankaracharya- Verse 299

As long as you have any connection with the evil-minded ego there is no possibility of Self Realization (Liberation)

अहंकारग्रहान्मुक्तः स्वरूपमुपपद्यते । 
चन्द्रवद्विमलः पूर्णः सदानन्दः स्वयंप्रभः ॥ ३00 ॥
ahaṃkāragrahānmuktaḥ svarūpamupapadyate | 
candravadvimalaḥ pūrṇaḥ sadānandaḥ svayaṃprabhaḥ || 300 ||

Viveka Chudamoni – Adi Shankaracharya- Verse 300

Like the moon becoming free from the shadow of Eclipse, shines again in her own original glory, similarly, the person, becoming free from this ego, regains its original effulgent real self.

यो वा पुरे सोऽहमिति प्रतीतो बुद्ध्या प्रकॢप्तस्तमसातिमूढया । 
तस्यैव निःशेषतया विनाशे ब्रह्मात्मभावः प्रतिबन्धशून्यः ॥ ३0१ ॥yo

vā purey so’hamiti pratīto buddhyā prakḷptastamasātimūḍhayā | 
tasyaiva niḥśeṣatayā vināśe brahmātmabhāvaḥ pratibandhaśūnyaḥ || 301 ||

That which exists in this body, identifying itself with the intellect, appears as “I AM” and with the complete destruction of that shines the original real SELF, free from all distractions. It is the biological ego that is the source of I and Mine idea, veils the Real Eternal Self, ensuing ignorance and sufferings. When that is destroyed by daily Kriya Yoga practice and studying Bhagavad Gita, the real Eternal Effulgent SELF shines forth, like the blazing Sun emerging from the eclipse.
